SACRAMENTO, CA - A Sacramento man who fatally stabbed another man he claimed looked at his wife the wrong way is headed to prison for 26 years to life.
William Michael Todd was sentenced in Sacramento County Superior Court. In April, a Sacramento jury convicted Todd of first-degree murder with the use of a knife in the May 31, 2010, slaying of David Endres.
According to court records, Todd and Endres were standing outside a friend's apartment, drinking beer, when Todd took offense at how Endres looked at his wife. Without warning, Todd took out a knife and stabbed Endres twice, once in the abdomen and once in the heart.
Sacramento County District Attorney spokeswoman Shelly Orio said Todd immediately fled but was captured a few blocks away. DNA analysis of blood on his shirt matched Endres' blood DNA.
