Walk for Safety

Parents concerned about the safety and well‐being of their children as they head back to school can get plenty of help at the 2013 Back to School Block Party, September 7 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Fruitridge Shopping Center, 5657 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95824.

A collaboration of the Fruitridge Manor Neighborhood Association (FMNA), the Sacramento Building Healthy Communities HUB (BHC), and NeighborWorks Sacramento, the event will feature a spectrum community and school organizations providing free health and safety resources, including free bike helmets, as well as free food, carnival games, and raffle prizes.

News10 enjoyed breakfast with local residents and the Dixon Mayor at A Street Deli Friday, August 9.

A Street Deli was chosen by viewers in an online vote, beating out Shaw's Family Restaurant .

Morning anchorwoman Keba Arnold broadcast news live at the Dixon's 'Breakfast in My Neighborhood' winner and had a chance to interview Dixon Mayor Jack Batchelor, Jr., too.

'Breakfast in My Neighborhood' - and the Winner is?

With 'Breakfast in My Neighborhood' News10 viewers get a chance to decide where News10 Good Morning co-anchor Keba Arnold will be live during the following Friday's 5 and 6 a.m. newscasts.

Voting began last Friday morning Aug. 2 and ended Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 6 p.m.

The winner was announced Wednesday, Aug. 7 on News10 Good Morning.

Edward Harris, Jr. Middle School to receive $2,000 from Big Lots Lots2Give video contest

Edward Harris, Jr. Middle School has won a $2,000 third place prize in the Big Lots Lots2Give video contest.  Harris will be recognized at a check presentation at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 10 at the Big Lots store in South Sacramento (6630 Valley Hi Drive, Sacramento 95823).
