Elk Grove Food Bank Services 2012 Annual Turkey Drive

Elk Grove Food Bank Services 2012 Annual Turkey Drive

It’s hard to imagine Thanksgiving without a roasted turkey.  Yet with the rising food costs, a Thanksgiving celebration may be out of reach for more than 800 families in Elk Grove.  With support from the community, the Elk Grove Food Bank Services (EGFBS) has the programs in place to provide turkeys to those in need.

According to Marie Jachino, EGFBS Executive Director, individuals, businesses and organizations can help bring families together around the holiday table. These generous contributions can make a real difference in the lives of families struggling in this difficult economic climate. Elk Grove residents can help their local Food Bank this Thanksgiving these following ways:

November 5-19:  Turkey Drive

9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

EGFBS facility – 9820 Dino Drive, Suite 140

A Scary Good Time - That Benefits the Elk Grove Food Bank

A Scary Good Time - That Benefits the Elk Grove Food Bank

One of the Sacramento area’s scariest home haunts returns to an Elk Grove neighborhood for the Halloween season. For the twelfth time, Steve McClelland converta a garage and part of a yard into a spooky Reaper’s Wrath. This year’s presentation will run for four days starting Friday, Oct. 26 and ending Halloween night.

Reaper’s Wrath will frighten the bravest souls from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 8870 Autumn Gold Court. Instead of the usual trick-or-treating, the Elk Grove hosts are asking for two cans of food for admission. They will donate all food to the Elk Grove Food Bank. Another canned good will be needed for each additional admission.
