Calistoga Invites You to Celebrate the Season with Holiday Festivities

Spread some cheer this Dec. during Calistoga’s Holiday Village. From Dec. 6-7, 2014 Calistoga will be transformed into a winter wonderland filled with fun activities to be enjoyed with friends and family during this wonderful time of year. 

Calistoga welcomes visitors with a cheerful atmosphere and shops aglow with a fully decorated celebration of family and friends in the Holiday Village. Visitors can shop for the perfect holiday gift while enjoying holiday refreshments and the heart-warming song of Christmas Carolers. The weekend will feature a variety of activities for the entire family.

The Magical Holiday Tradition Continues in Old Sacramento with the "Macy's Theatre of Lights”!

Known as a magical, electrifying and family-friendly holiday tradition in Old Sacramento, the ever-popular and FREE "Macy's Theatre of Lights" performances return on Wednesday evening, November 26, following an official tree lighting ceremony that begins at 6 p.m. and is open to the public. The 2014 "Macy's Theatre of Lights" is proudly sponsored by Bank of America and presented by the Old Sacramento Business Association (OSBA) in cooperation with Downtown Sacramento Foundation (DSF), the City of Sacramento Department of Convention and Cultural Services, and Old Sacramento merchants and small business owners.

Famed artist Lawrence Argent speaking at Crocker Museum this Wednesday night

WHAT: Lawrence Argent, famed artist best known for Leap, the much photographed “red rabbit” prominently featured atop the escalators in Terminal B at Sacramento International Airport, will speak at the Crocker Art Museum, November 5, 7:00 p.m. Argent’s presentation will take place in conjunction with an exhibition at the Temp Gallery, 1616 Del Paso Blvd, featuring public artists, from November 6 – 23. The exhibition salutes the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission’s Public Art Program and recognizes three artists who have created iconic public artworks in the County. The exhibition is titled, “Art for Everyone: a tribute to Sacramento’s collection of public art” and features work by Lawrence Argent, Stephen Kaltenbach, and Gerald Walburg.

State Indian Museum Celebrates Native American Heritage Month with Series of Special Events!

In honor of national Native American Heritage Month, the State Indian Museum is offering a series of special events and activities each weekend that celebrate and share the lasting heritage, traditions and contributions of Native Americans.  In fact, the State Indian Museum will offer notable Basket Weaving Demonstrations, a compelling Native Literature Showcase, hands-on “Continuing Culture” Skills Workshops, a Native Film Festival and an always-popular Indian Arts & Crafts Holiday Fair.  All Native American Heritage Month activities happening in November at the State Indian Museum are provided free with regular Museum admission.
