Pet of the Week- Temperance

Pet of the Week- Temperance

Meet Temperance, a really a sweet and silly litlle eleven-month-old Terrier mix. She can be a little shy at first but warms up quickly!

She really loves to both play ball and/or jsut cuddle and gives lots of kisses.

Temperance is a bright girl who would do well with a little training to help her build her confidence. She would do best with a dog savvy owner and would do best with adults and older children at home. She also should do fine with another dog(s) at home but no cats please.

Come meet Temperance and her friends here at the SPCA!!

Pet of the Week- Brock

Pet of the Week- Brock

Did you know that the Sacramento SPCA offers FREE adoptions to seniors over the age of sixty, when they adopt animals over five-years-old? It’s called the Senior Companionship Program and it helps to benefit both seniors and pets in our community!

Meet Brock. He’s a seven-year-old Labrador Retriever mix who loves to be outside and explore the world. He’s also affectionate and will come in for a lean if you offer to pet him. He will do best with older children and other dogs (cats ok too); If he sounds like your new best friend, check him out online at www.sspca.org!

Pet of the week- Mr. Smokey

Pet of the week- Mr. Smokey

Meet Mr. Smokey!

This eight-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix is both sweet and friendly. He is fairly typical of his breed in that he is very smart, confident and independent, but he’s also a big lover!  Positive reinforcement training would help him focus his energy and learn even more commands than he already knows. Mr. Smokey would do best in a somewhat active home with experienced adult owners (older kids and other dogs ok).  He is eligible for our Senior for Senior Program in which adoption fees are waived for adopters who are at least sixty-years-old and adopting animals over the age of five.

Pitbull bites 3 people in so. Sacramento; owner flees scene

SACRAMENTO - Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of a large pitbull that had bitten three people in the area of Florin Road and 65 Avenue on Wednesday.

Sacramento County Sheriff's spokesman, Jason Ramos, said the dog's owner was in the area for the first bite, then fled the scene in his truck and the pitbull bit two more people. ]

A News10 team member on site reported that police finally corralled the dog, shot it with a tranquilizer gun and transported it from the scene.

No further information was given on the owner's identity or the dog's condition.

Pet of the Week- Torpedo!

Pet of the Week- Torpedo!

Meet Torpedo! A very energetic and quirky dog who is a year and six-months old. He is a Pug/Corgi Cardigan Welsh mix, which gives him a very unique look.

Torpedo is a happy dog who just loves to have fun running and playing outside!  He is both adventurous and independent, but also loves to hang out with his people friends. As you can see from his picture, he's got a big smile on his face!

Torpedo would do best as an only dog in a very active, adult household with someone who is home often to play and walk with him. He is a bright guy and should do well with a little training to focus his energy.
