SACRAMENTO, CA. - A parolee is back in jail after being arrested Saturday afternoon for the home invasion and sexual assault of an elderly South Sacramento woman.
Just before 11 a.m., deputies got a call from a woman who had fled to a neighbors house, reporting she had been restrained and sexually assaulted in her home.
The suspect, she said, also spent time trying on her clothing.
As the search and investigation continued into the afternoon, authorities received a call about a subject matching the description of their suspect.
Deputies descended on the intersection of Thurman Way and Stockton Boulevard, setting up a perimeter.
The suspect was able to elude officers for over an hour by jumping fences, running through backyards and breaking into two residences.
Shortly before 5 p.m., a K-9 unit tracked the suspect to a home on the 5700 block of Nina Way.
