3 stabbed, 1 dead in fight outside Sacramento pot club

SOUTH SACRAMENTO, CA - Sacramento police say a triple stabbing outside of a medical marijuana dispensary Wednesday was gang-related. One man died from his injuries.

Officers were called to the R & R Wellness collective on Quinta Court just south of Mack Road just before noon.

Sgt. Norm Leong said an argument broke out between the occupants of two cars after one group had exited the store. He said as three young men in their 20s fought with another man, he pulled out a knife and stabbed the trio.

The three stabbing victims drove themselves to Kaiser South hospital where one of them died shortly after arriving.

Witnesses said the man with a knife fled in a car with a woman and child. Leong said alleged attacker was on foot when officers found him and took him into custody at 24th Street and Fruitridge Boulevard.

Pet of the Week- Zoie

Pet of the Week- Zoie

Meet Zoie!

Zoie is a young girl, only eleven-months, with lots of energy!  She is a Hound mix, so she needs some consistent training to be the best dog she can be, but responds well to calm, positive reinforcement trianing.  Like most hounds, she spends lots of time with her nose to the ground, but also likes to interact with people.  She should be the only dog in a cat-free home, and would do well with older children.

Sacramento teen arrested for allegedly stabbing man to death

SACRAMENTO, CA - Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputies have arrested a teenage boy after a man was stabbed to death Tuesday night.

In a news release, sheriff's spokesman Jason Ramos said deputies were called to an apartment complex in the 7300 block of Stockton Boulevard a little before 10 p.m. Tuesday for a stabbing. When they arrived they found paramedics treating a man with several stab wounds. That man, who hasn't been identified, died of his injuries several hours later.

Several other people at the apartment said the person who stabbed the victim was a 16-year-old cousin of the victim who ran from the apartment after the attack. He was later tracked down and arrested at a home in Sacramento County. His identification has not been released because he is a minor.

Bullet-proof vests for police dogs?

Bullet-proof vests for police dogs?

Thor, a police dog at the Antioch K-9 unit, received a bullet-proof vest on Tuesday along with the 3 other dogs.  K-9 Thor was shot by a suspect last summer and survived.

There are a new vest design that is custom-fit for each dog and allows them to move with greater freedom and mobility than the old-style bullet-proof vests.

Do you think the new vests will help our furry 4-legged officers?
